1 season at a nationwide conference a group of experts were sharing how tough it was to keep up with their full-time task, their part-time direct sales business, and run a family. In short, they did not see how it was possible to find the time to make prospecting calls for recruiting. As I heard them, it was easy for me to understand.
If you have a full-time job and a family, in addition to your direct sales company, you might not just be wondering how you're supposed to fit in prospecting calls to hire people, but likewise prospecting calls to book home parties as well.
Whether you have a household waiting for you when you get house or not, what I desire you to understand is that as quickly as you walk because door, you will want to relax. And your brain is going to offer you reason after justification why you should have a break and can wait till tomorrow to make all those prospecting calls.
This might amaze you but I am not going to tell you to overlook that brain of yours. Rather, I am going to show you how to unwind, enjoy your household and your evening, and move your direct sales company ahead.
The reason it is so hard to obtain yourself to make phone calls as soon as you get home from work is that you have to press both physically and mentally versus the present. Ever try to run or ride your bike versus the wind? If you have, you understand how challenging that is to do, and that is what it's like when you get home from a complete day of work and have to "work up" the energy to work once again. 9 times out of 10 it does not sound fun, which is why you put it off till tomorrow, and then the day after tomorrow, and so on
. The secret? Make those prospecting calls before you ever stroll through the front door, so that once you do get house, you can delight in being with your household and relax.
Here is exactly what I recommend: Every evening jot down the telephone number of three to 5 prospects and/or customers in a little notebook. Throughout your lunch hour, make a minimum of one call (if you feel like making more, go all out, but make at least one). Finishing one call will only take a few minutes and you will not only have most of your lunch break to relax, but you will also be able to really enjoy it since you attempted to move your business ahead.
After work, find a comfy area at your office and even in your vehicle to make another 2 to 4 telephone call. Believe it or not, even by making only 3 calls a day, you can move your company ahead. One of the most spectacular features of this business is the impact that consistency has on it. By making 3 calls 6 days a week, you wind up making 72 calls a month.
Now, remember the group of experts I heard speaking about the obstacles of building a larger business, if one had a full-time task and a family together with a direct sales business?
